About

About NEWA Family Medical Centre

Newa is a modern family medical centre on the North Shore where people of every age are seen promptly, listened to properly and cared for by a team who takes the time to know them. We put as much focus on keeping you well as we do on looking after you when you're unwell, with care that grows with you and your family through every stage of life.

Our Mission

Our Mission

Family and skin health care for the North Shore — delivered in the language you are most comfortable speaking.

  1. You will be understood

Consultations in English, Mandarin and Korean, so no one has to rely on a family member to translate their own health care.

  2. You can ask for your own clinician

You're welcome to ask for your preferred clinician. Our clinicians work on different days, so we'll do our best to book you in with the person you'd like to see.

  3. You will know the cost before you book

Our fees are published in full on this website.

Our Services

Everyday care, long-term conditions, skin health and more, under one roof.

Everyday care

Day-to-day medical care for the whole family — coughs and colds, infections, aches and pains, mental health, and the things you're not sure about. You can see a GP or a nurse practitioner. We also visit patients at home when getting to the clinic is difficult. If you've been injured, we can treat it and lodge your ACC claim at the same visit.

Children and family health

From newborn checks through to teenagers — childhood immunisations, growth and development, and the everyday illnesses that come with daycare and school. Visits are free for enrolled children under 14.

Immunisations and travel health

Flu vaccines, adult immunisations, and the vaccinations you need before you travel. Book a travel consultation at least six weeks before you go, as some vaccines take time to work or need more than one dose. Eligibility for free vaccines changes from year to year — ask us and we'll check for you.

Women's health

Cervical screening, including the HPV self-test you can do yourself in private. Contraception advice and long-acting options such as Mirena, Jadelle and the copper IUD, which are free for many patients. Menopause care for anyone wanting to talk through symptoms and options.

Men's health

Health care for men at every age — from everyday concerns to the things that are easy to put off, such as heart health, prostate checks, sexual health and mental wellbeing. An annual men's health check is a simple way to stay on top of it.

Long-term conditions

Ongoing support for conditions such as diabetes, asthma and heart health — regular reviews, monitoring and prescriptions, with a clinician who knows your history. We also do ECGs and iron infusions here, so you're not always sent elsewhere.

Skin and minor procedures

Skin checks and mole mapping, and removal of lumps, moles and skin lesions in our own procedure room. We also offer cosmetic treatments, including anti-wrinkle injections and injectable skin boosters.

Medicals and assessments

Medicals for driving, employment and insurance, and ADHD assessments for adults aged 18 and over. These are longer appointments and are charged separately — see our fees page.

Weight management

A dedicated weight management clinic for people who want structured, ongoing support rather than one-off advice. Ask reception what's involved and what it costs.

IV infusions

Some treatments are given straight into a vein through a drip, here at the clinic and under the care of our clinical team. We offer iron, vitamin B12, vitamin C, glutathione and hydration infusions. A doctor or nurse practitioner will first check whether an infusion is right for you. Infusion fees are on our fees page; an iron infusion is free if you meet the funding criteria.

Enrol

Enrol with NEWA Family Medical Centre

Enrolling means lower fees and access to government-funded care, and the online form takes a few minutes. If you'd like help, our team can walk you through it in English, Mandarin or Korean. Families who join us early will have a care team that has known them from the very start.

  1. Fill in the online form

Complete our online enrolment form and upload a photo ID as part of it. If you'd prefer help, call reception on 09 281 5668 or pop in and we'll help you complete it.

  2. We process your enrolment

Please allow 5 working days. We'll let you know once it's confirmed, and we'll request your records from your previous practice — you don't need to do anything.

  3. Book your first appointment

Your first appointment is a double appointment, so we have time to get to know you. It's face to face and paid in advance when you book. You don't need to bring ID — the photo you uploaded confirms who you are.
